On Thursday night October 17, 2024, the Bergheim Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD) responded to a building fire at the Cordillera Ranch Golf Club assisted by other fire departments in the area. In route to the seen members stated they could see smoke from a mile away.

"They arrived on scene to see the building completely engulfed, so they began a defensive attack," said Lt. Lucy Hudson, a Bergheim volunteer.
